Microsoft Power Platform & Copilot Studio Administrator

Overview / Summary

The Microsoft Power Platform & Copilot Studio Administrator is responsible for the secure, scalable, and compliant administration of Microsoft Power Platform, including Power Apps, Power Automate, and Copilot Studio. This role oversees tenant governance, environment strategy, Data Loss Prevention (DLP), license management, Application Lifecycle Management (ALM), and platform monitoring. The position works closely with security, compliance, and business stakeholders to support citizen development, establish best practices, and maintain platform reliability and performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer and maintain tenant-wide settings and environment strategy across Power Apps, Power Automate, and Copilot Studio environments, including development, testing, production, sandbox, and business-unit environments.
  • Design, implement, and enforce Data Loss Prevention (DLP) policies for connectors and data classifications.
  • Configure Copilot Studio policies, including data grounding sources, prompts, plugins/actions, responsible AI guardrails, content moderation, and logging.
  • Administer Copilot Studio environments, security settings, communication channels, and data sources.
  • Manage platform licensing and capacity, including user licensing, application licensing, usage-based licensing, Copilot Studio credits, and Dataverse capacity planning.
  • Design and implement Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) strategies using deployment pipelines and automation.
  • Define platform standards and templates, including solution structures, naming conventions, environments, connectors, and data models.
  • Partner with security and compliance teams to implement security requirements and protect sensitive data.
  • Support citizen developers through governance, training, standardized templates, and best practices.
  • Develop and maintain platform documentation, runbooks, standards, FAQs, and onboarding materials.
  • Conduct periodic reviews of environments, applications, flows, usage, activity, and overall solution health.
  • Monitor platform service health, performance, and operational limits, proactively resolving issues and coordinating support activities as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • 3–5 years of experience administering Microsoft Power Platform environments.
  • Experience with Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse, and Copilot Studio.
  • Knowledge of platform governance, security, compliance, citizen development, Application Lifecycle Management (ALM), and platform operations.
  • Experience with scripting and development technologies including PowerShell, Python, and C#.
  • Experience working with Microsoft 365 services, including Power BI, SharePoint, Exchange, Office applications, Entra ID, and Microsoft Azure.
  • Understanding of AI technologies, including Large Language Models (LLMs), data grounding, knowledge sources, orchestration, agent-based automation, MCP services, and responsible AI practices.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Understanding of Agile project methodologies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Power Platform certification or equivalent experience.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Completion of a certification program.
