THE CHALLENGE

The client wanted to digitize their entire collection of nineteenth century master fiche records to enable end users access the required information. The major challenges in digitizing these collections was related to:

• Handling various film formats such as Step and Repeat Fiche, Film Jackets, COM, and Aperture Cards
• The originally captured fiche images had varying reduction ratios
