BACKGROUND

The life sciences innovator decided to obtain ISO 27001 certification for a number of reasons. One important element was the client’s rapid growth, which resulted in a sharp rise in the demand from its customers for assurance of its information security management structures and capability. In addition to ensuring compliance with best practices, certification to an internationally recognized standard, such as ISO 27001, also highlighted the client’s continued commitment to information security.

THE CHALLENGE

The client is a market leader and a fast-paced, agile technology company. Given that the cyber threat landscape is becoming more sophisticated and dangerous, the challenge was to establish a strong security culture within the company that has both on-premises and cloud-based IT infrastructure. Because they are constantly developing and incorporating technology, their users all over the world rely heavily on their IT infrastructure. There comes a crucial need to have the necessary security control requirements.
