Azure Data Engineer – Databricks / Synapse / ADF

We are seeking a hands-on Azure Data Engineer to design, build, optimize, and support modern data pipelines and analytics solutions in Azure. This role is ideal for someone who can work within an existing environment, assess current tools and data flows, and help recommend improvements to data architecture and data models.

The right candidate will bring strong experience with Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Synapse Analytics, Azure storage solutions, and SQL/Python/Scala, along with the ability to translate business and technical requirements into scalable data solutions. Experience supporting digital marketing or ecommerce data environments is a strong plus.

Required Qualifications

5–10 years of relevant experience in data engineering
Strong hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory (ADF), Databricks, and Synapse Analytics
Strong programming/scripting skills in SQL and Python or Scala
Experience with Azure Cosmos DB and other Azure-based data storage solutions
Experience building, modifying, and supporting cloud-based data pipelines and data integration solutions
Ability to assess existing tools and data flows and recommend better approaches or improved data models
Strong understanding of data transformation, ETL/ELT, and data engineering best practices
Ability to work independently in a complex environment and solve ambiguous data challenges

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working with digital marketing data, customer data, or ecommerce data
Experience supporting analytics, reporting, or customer behavior data platforms
Exposure to modern cloud data architecture, dimensional modeling, and data platform optimization

Key Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and workflows using Azure Data Factory, Databricks, and Synapse Analytics
Develop and optimize data ingestion, transformation, and integration processes across multiple Azure data platforms
Work with structured and semi-structured data in cloud-based storage environments, including Azure Cosmos DB and other Azure data storage technologies
Analyze existing tools, pipelines, and data flows to identify gaps, dependencies, and opportunities for improvement
Recommend and help define improved data models, architecture, and engineering best practices
Partner with business and technical teams to support reporting, analytics, and downstream data consumption needs
Write and maintain robust code for data transformation and automation using SQL, Python, and/or Scala
Support testing, validation, monitoring, and performance tuning of data pipelines and data platforms
Contribute to data quality, reliability, and operational support within the Azure data ecosystem
