Senior Quality Assurance Analyst – Medicaid Systems

Overview / Summary
Seeking a Quality Assurance Analyst to support small to large-scale projects related to Medicaid enrollment, eligibility, claims processing, document management, and workflow systems. This role will work onsite in Columbia, SC working with the team and serves as a system testing specialist within the Systems Applications Integration and Development team and provides technical quality assurance support across enterprise projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop test plans, QA processes, User Acceptance Testing (UAT) processes, and test cases for software development and product management teams.
  • Design and support user interface testing applications and regression testing software.
  • Test software applications for reliability, stability, usability, and negative testing scenarios.
  • Perform Smoke Testing, System Integration Testing, and End-to-End Testing across various systems and applications.
  • Identify issues, action items, and impediments; coordinate with leadership and technical teams to support timely resolution.
  • Participate in quality assessments to identify security flaws, defects, and optimization opportunities.
  • Define, implement, and support QA best practices, processes, policies, and governance standards.
  • Ensure projects adhere to software testing governance policies, best practices, and guidelines.
  • Maintain defect databases, user reviews, survey information, and functional improvement documentation.
  • Coordinate with software engineers and product development teams to recommend solutions that improve system performance and efficiency.
  • Perform reviews, walkthroughs, and inspections in alignment with established governance standards.
  • Provide oversight and approval of vendor unit and system integration test plans and test results.
  • Support preparation and review of test plans, test scripts, scenarios, and test reports.
  • Monitor testing progress against targets and take corrective action when necessary.
  • Collaborate with architects, technicians, stakeholders, and management to document testing outcomes and complete assigned tasks on schedule.
  • Document and support the development of test scenarios/cases and execute testing activities.
  • Publish status reports for open issues and testing gaps and communicate findings to development teams.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in Quality Assurance and Quality Control.
  • 5+ years of experience translating business requirements or policy documentation into test cases and scenarios and building test cases into test systems.
  • 3+ years of experience with Sahi Pro/Selenium Automation Framework.
  • Experience designing and developing test automation scripts using test automation guidelines.
  • Working knowledge of one or more of the following: Spice, TPI, TMMI, CMMI OPF, OPD, or PPQA process areas.
  • Hands-on experience with formal test design techniques such as Equivalence Class Partitioning and Pairwise Analysis.
  • Experience with test design tools such as PICT or equivalent orthogonal-based tools.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical, business, or healthcare field, or 5+ years of equivalent Quality Assurance experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with strong English proficiency.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience supporting large enterprise or e-business systems.
  • 3 years of Medicaid or healthcare experience with knowledge of healthcare operations and business processes.
  • Experience with X12 Standards and HIPAA EDI Transactions.
  • Proficiency with Atlassian tools including JIRA and Confluence.
  • Experience working within SDLC waterfall methodology and Agile delivery environments.
