Cerner Technical Business Analyst

We are seeking an experienced Cerner Technical Business Analyst to support critical EHR and healthcare IT initiatives in an onsite role in Cayce, SC. This position is ideal for someone with strong experience in Cerner application support, HL7, systems analysis, interface troubleshooting, and healthcare workflow optimization.
In this role, you will support Cerner-related build, testing, validation, troubleshooting, reporting, and ongoing optimization efforts across a complex healthcare environment. You will work closely with clinical analysts, IT teams, business stakeholders, and operational users to improve system performance, resolve issues, support upgrades, and maintain high-quality documentation and reporting.

What You’ll Do
- Serve as a Cerner analyst supporting system optimization, testing, validation, and ongoing application support
- Complete and support Cerner PowerChart build, including PowerNote, PowerForm, PowerPlan, ESH, and Dynamic Docs
- Support Discern rules writing, DCW maintenance, and solution-specific system configuration
- Troubleshoot and resolve HL7, FSI, ESI/ESO, and interface-related issues
- Support system design, development, maintenance, deployment, and functional application support processes
- Lead or assist with diagnosis, troubleshooting, escalation, and resolution of complex system issues
- Participate in change control, release management, testing, validation, and documentation efforts
- Develop and maintain supporting technical documentation, training materials, and knowledge artifacts
- Work with program areas and IT teams to understand workflows, gather requirements, and identify improvement opportunities
- Monitor system usage, identify data quality issues, and support reporting and trend analysis
- Assist with system permissions, onboarding support, training, and production validation
- Maintain SharePoint collaboration content and support reporting on system effectiveness
- Help align system processes and documentation with security and compliance standards
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience supporting healthcare IT systems and application support
- 5+ years of experience as an IT Systems Analyst
- 5+ years of experience working with HL7
- 5+ years of experience with FSI (Foreign Systems Integration)
- 5+ years of experience with Cerner Olympus
- 5+ years of experience compiling reports and supporting reporting needs
- Strong experience with:
- Cerner CCL query language
- Cerner Bedrock
- Cerner HNA
- Cerner Remedy
- Cerner Reference Lab Network (RLN)
- Cerner Work Queue Manager (WQM)
- Cerner Remote Report Distribution (RRD)
- Experience with JavaScript
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, Outlook, Visio, and SharePoint
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and customer support skills
Preferred Background
- Experience with Cerner implementation, optimization, upgrades, and production support
- Experience collaborating with clinical analysts and business users on current and future state workflows
- Experience supporting healthcare interfaces, orders, and bi-directional integration troubleshooting
- Experience creating technical reports, documentation, validation scripts, and knowledge artifacts
- Familiarity with healthcare IT security standards, compliance, and structured change control processes
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Public Health, Environmental Science, or related field

- 5 years of related experience in lieu of degree
