Guidewire BillingCenter Cloud Lead

Overview / Summary

We are seeking an experienced Guidewire BillingCenter Lead to join our growing Guidewire Cloud Implementation Practice. In this senior-level role, you will lead end-to-end implementations of Guidewire BillingCenter on the Guidewire Cloud Platform (GWCP), partnering with Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance clients to modernize billing operations. You will serve as the primary technical and functional authority for BillingCenter, guiding client stakeholders, development teams, and QA resources through all phases of the implementation lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead full lifecycle Guidewire BillingCenter Cloud implementations from Discovery through Go-Live and Hypercare.
  • Define solution architecture and design for billing workflows, payment plans, disbursements, and installment schedules.
  • Drive cloud-native configuration using Guidewire Cloud Platform (GWCP) standards, including Jutro, Cloud API, and App Events.
  • Manage scope, timeline, and delivery quality for BillingCenter workstreams across complex, multi-product implementations.
  • Configure and extend BillingCenter modules including Accounts, Policies, Charges, Payments, Delinquencies, and Agency Bill.
  • Develop and review Gosu code, business rules, and workflow configurations to meet client requirements.
  • Lead data migration strategy and execution for billing accounts, payment history, and policy transfers.
  • Design and implement integrations with external payment processors, general ledger systems, and third-party vendors using REST APIs and Guidewire Integration Framework.
  • Apply Guidewire Cloud upgrade and update strategies, including managing Guidewire releases and hotfixes.
  • Act as the primary SME for BillingCenter, leading client workshops, design sessions, and UAT walkthroughs.
  • Translate insurance billing business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
  • Identify risks, issues, and dependencies and communicate mitigation plans to project leadership.
  • Present solution designs and status updates to C-suite and VP-level stakeholders.
  • Lead and mentor a team of BillingCenter developers, configuration analysts, and QA engineers.
  • Conduct code and configuration reviews to enforce Guidewire best practices and coding standards.
  • Contribute to reusable assets, delivery accelerators, and internal knowledge base development.
  • Partner with PolicyCenter and ClaimCenter leads to ensure seamless cross-product integration.

Required Qualifications

  • 12+ years of P&C insurance technology experience with 8+ years of hands-on Guidewire BillingCenter implementation experience.
  • Proven lead experience on at least 2 full Guidewire BillingCenter implementations (cloud or on-premise).
  • Deep expertise in BillingCenter data model, billing instructions, payment plans, delinquency workflows, and producer management.
  • Proficiency in Gosu programming language and Guidewire Studio IDE.
  • Experience with Guidewire Cloud Platform (GWCP), cloud-native architecture, and Guidewire App Events.
  • Strong knowledge of REST API design, SOAP/XML, and Guidewire Integration Gateway.
  • Experience with Agile/SAFe delivery methodologies and tools including Jira, Confluence, and Azure DevOps.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present to technical and non-technical audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Guidewire BillingCenter ACE certification.
  • Experience with Guidewire BillingCenter on cloud.
  • Familiarity with Guidewire Jutro Digital Platform for billing self-service portals.
  • Knowledge of Personal Lines and/or Commercial Lines billing operations including premium finance, agency bill, and direct bill.
  • Experience with data migration tools such as Informatica and Talend for large-scale billing data conversions.
  • Exposure to Guidewire InsuranceSuite including PolicyCenter and/or ClaimCenter integration patterns.
  • Experience in multi-carrier or multi-LOB Guidewire implementations.
