Senior Business Analyst – Life Insurance (Agile & AI-Assisted BA)
Overview / Summary
We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst with strong expertise in the Life Insurance domain. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of Agent lifecycle management, Policy Administration, Home Office operations, and Underwriting processes, along with strong experience in Agile delivery environments. This role involves working closely with business stakeholders, Development, and QA teams to gather requirements, create user stories, manage backlog activities, and support successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Interact with client business users and stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business requirements
- Conduct requirement workshops, stakeholder meetings, and walkthrough sessions
- Create and maintain:
- Business Requirement Documents (BRD)
- Functional Requirement Documents (FRD)
- User Stories with clear Acceptance Criteria
- Leverage AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot and Claude for:
- Requirement analysis and structuring
- Accelerated BRD and user story creation
- Requirement validation and gap analysis
- Translate business requirements into clear, implementable user stories aligned with Agile best practices
- Perform backlog refinement and ensure all stories meet the Definition of Ready (DoR)
- Prioritize user stories based on business value, dependencies, and release goals
- Provide continuous clarification on domain rules, workflows, and business functionality to Development and QA teams
- Ensure all functional, business, and domain-related queries from Development and QA teams are resolved promptly
- Own and manage requirement traceability from inception through delivery
- Actively support Sprint Planning, Refinement, SIT, and UAT phases
- Ensure the Definition of Done (DoD) is met for each user story, including:
- Functional completeness
- Acceptance criteria validation
- Business rules compliance
- Required documentation updates
- Obtain formal sign-off from business stakeholders upon meeting DoD
- Support UAT execution, defect triage, and business validation
- Identify gaps, risks, and dependencies in business processes and proposed solutions
- Act as a bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams to ensure successful delivery
Required Qualifications
- 7 to 10 years of overall Business Analysis experience
- Strong hands-on experience in the Life Insurance domain
- Strong understanding of:
- Agent lifecycle (onboarding, hierarchy, commissions, incentives)
- Policy administration (New Business, Endorsements, Renewals, Servicing)
- Home Office operations
- Underwriting processes (manual & automated, risk rules, decision workflows)
- Understanding of regulatory, compliance, and operational impacts in Life Insurance
- Excellent experience in Agile / Scrum delivery model
- Expertise in requirement gathering, documentation, and user story creation
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Hands-on exposure to AI-assisted Business Analysis practices (Copilot experience preferred)
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in parallel
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working on Policy Administration Systems (PAS)
- Exposure to digital insurance transformation or modernization programs
- Familiarity with regulatory and compliance-driven requirements
- BA certifications such as CBAP, PMI-PBA, or Agile BA

- ARA® (Associate, Regulatory Compliance) – LOMA
