Job Title: Ecommerce Architect – Adobe Commerce / Magento
Overview / Summary
We are seeking an Ecommerce Architect with 10+ years of total experience and 6+ years of relevant experience. The role requires strong Adobe Commerce/Magento architecture expertise, experience with large-scale ecommerce environments, composable and federated commerce architectures, API architecture, Adobe ecosystem technologies, and enterprise system integrations.
The ideal candidate will provide technical leadership across architecture, integration, modernization, and implementation decisions while remaining technically deep enough to review solution designs, APIs, data models, and integration flows.
Key Responsibilities
- Design composable and federated commerce architectures, including decoupling catalog, pricing, inventory, promotions, identity, and checkout capabilities.
- Define and review API architectures using REST, GraphQL, event-driven integrations, middleware, and API gateways.
- Work with Adobe ecosystem technologies, including Adobe Commerce, Adobe Commerce Optimizer/Catalog Service, AEM/Edge Delivery Services, and App Builder/API Mesh.
- Apply strong understanding of catalog, pricing, inventory, promotions, customer/identity, cart, and order domains.
- Design integrations between ecommerce platforms and ERP, PIM, OMS, promotion engines, identity platforms, and other enterprise systems.
- Design architectures for high availability, scalability, performance, resiliency, caching, and graceful degradation at enterprise ecommerce scale.
- Define target architecture, integration patterns, technical standards, migration strategies, and phased modernization roadmaps.
- Provide technical leadership across Product, Engineering, Enterprise Architecture, SAP/Integration teams, Security, and vendors.
- Review solution designs, APIs, data models, integration flows, and major implementation decisions.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of total experience and 6+ years of relevant experience.
- Strong Adobe Commerce/Magento architecture experience, ideally in large-scale, high-traffic ecommerce environments.
- Experience designing composable/federated commerce architectures.
- Strong API architecture experience with REST, GraphQL, event-driven integrations, middleware, and API gateways.
- Experience with Adobe Commerce, Adobe Commerce Optimizer/Catalog Service, AEM/Edge Delivery Services, and App Builder/API Mesh.
- Strong understanding of catalog, pricing, inventory, promotions, customer/identity, cart, and order domains.
- Experience integrating ecommerce with ERP, PIM, OMS, promotion engines, identity platforms, and other enterprise systems.
- SAP experience is highly preferred.
- Experience designing for high availability, scalability, performance, resiliency, caching, and graceful degradation.
