Network Security Engineer

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Network Security Engineer with 5 years to 8 years of strong expertise in network security, routing, and enterprise network infrastructure.   The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Palo Alto, Cisco ASA, and Cisco networking technologies.This role requires an independent contributor who can effectively manage tasks and ensure secure, reliable network operations.

Requirements:

Network Security

• Manage and maintain network security infrastructure including Palo Alto and Cisco ASA firewalls.
• Implement and monitor security policies, firewall rules, NAT configurations, and VPNs.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex security and connectivity issues.
• Ensure compliance with security standards and best practices.

Web Application Security

• Hands-on experience with Cloudflare Web Application Firewall (WAF) solutions for protecting applications against threats, including DDoS attacks and bot traffic.
• Configure WAF rules, rate limiting, and security policies to enhance application security and optimize performance.

Network Infrastructure

• Design, implement, and support Cisco-based LAN, WAN, and Meraki environments.
• Manage switching, wireless, and WAN connectivity across enterprise networks.
• Monitor network performance and ensure high availability and reliability.
• Routing & Switching
• Configure, manage, and troubleshoot dynamic routing protocols including BGP and EIGRP.
• Perform routing optimization and traffic engineering for improved performance.

Required Skills & Experience

• 5 years to 8 years of experience in network engineering.
•  Minimum 3+ years of experience managing network security using Palo Alto and Cisco ASA.
• Strong experience with Cisco LAN, WAN, and Meraki environments (minimum 3 years).
• Deep understanding of routing protocols such as BGP and EIGRP.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills in networking and security domains.
• Ability to work independently and manage tasks with minimal supervision.

Preferred Qualifications

• Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or Palo Alto certifications.
• Experience with network monitoring and logging tools.
• Exposure to cloud networking is a plus.

• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Good communication and documentation abilities.

PLUS - Desired to have: Cloudflare WAF experience
