Senior Native Mobile Performance Testing Engineer
Primary Technologies: Apache JMeter | BlazeMeter | BrowserStack
Experience Required: 5–10 Years
Primary Specialization: Native Android and iOS Application Performance Engineering
Position Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled, hands-on Senior Native Mobile Performance Testing Engineer with deep expertise in Apache JMeter, BlazeMeter, and BrowserStack to design, develop, execute, and analyze performance tests for enterprise-native Android and iOS applications.
This position is specifically focused on native mobile applications installed and executed directly on Android and iOS devices—not mobile websites, mobile browsers, or responsive web applications.
The ideal candidate will have strong proven experience testing native mobile application packages (APK/AAB and IPA), combining JMeter/BlazeMeter protocol-level load testing with BrowserStack real-device native application automation to assess end-user responsiveness, application stability, backend scalability, and overall performance.
The successful candidate must be capable of independently developing performance test frameworks, implementing realistic native mobile application workloads, executing distributed load tests, automating native application user journeys on real devices, and diagnosing performance bottlenecks across the mobile device, application, network, APIs, and backend infrastructure.
This is a hands-on technical engineering position requiring strong scripting, mobile automation, performance analysis, troubleshooting, and technical leadership capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
Native Android and iOS Application Performance Testing
JMeter and BlazeMeter Performance Engineering
BrowserStack Native Mobile Application Testing
Important: BrowserStack experience must involve testing native mobile applications installed on real devices. Experience limited to opening websites in mobile browsers through BrowserStack does not meet the primary requirement.
Performance Analysis and Technical Leadership
Required Technical Skills
Required Experience and Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications
Web performance testing is a nice-to-have capability and must not substitute for native Android/iOS application performance engineering experience.
Expected Outcomes
The successful candidate will be expected to:
Technical Screening Questions
1. Native Application Experience
Describe your experience performance testing installed native Android and iOS applications. What native application performance metrics have you captured, and what tools did you use? How does your approach differ from testing websites in mobile browsers?
2. JMeter + BlazeMeter + BrowserStack Integration
Explain how you would execute a BlazeMeter/JMeter backend load test while simultaneously running automated native Android and iOS application scenarios on BrowserStack real devices. How would you correlate the results?
3. Native Mobile Performance Bottleneck Analysis
A native iOS or Android application experiences slow screen transitions and delayed API-driven updates during high backend load. How would you determine whether the bottleneck originates from native application processing, device resources, network conditions, APIs, or backend services?
4. Native Mobile Application Performance Profiling
What tools and techniques have you used to measure native application startup time, CPU consumption, memory utilization, rendering performance, battery impact, and application crashes? Which metrics can you obtain through BrowserStack, and which require complementary diagnostic tools?
5. Native Mobile Performance Framework Development
Describe how you would build an enterprise native Android/iOS performance testing framework from scratch using JMeter, BlazeMeter, BrowserStack, and Appium. Include native application automation, workload modeling, real-device testing, monitoring, reporting, and CI/CD integration.

Recruiter screening guidance: Candidates whose BrowserStack experience is limited to testing websites in Chrome on Android or Safari on iOS should not be considered qualified based on that experience alone. The primary requirement is demonstrated performance testing of installed Android and iOS applications, including native application automation, device-level performance analysis, and concurrent backend load testing.

Recommended screening priorities — Junior role
Recommendation: For this junior position, emphasize demonstrated JMeter scripting capability and actual native mobile application testing experience. Candidates should have practical exposure to BlazeMeter, BrowserStack, and Appium, but they should not be expected to independently architect an enterprise performance framework.
The key hiring distinction is that the Senior Engineer designs and leads the native mobile performance testing solution, while the Junior Engineer develops scripts, executes tests, analyzes initial results, and maintains automation within that solution.
