Job Description:

Scrum Master – Azure DevOps & Application Delivery

Bring your Scrum leadership and Azure DevOps experience to work with our growing team onsite in Columbia, SC. You will be working in  an enterprise application environment where you will help project and operational teams improve collaboration, remove delivery obstacles, and consistently deliver high-quality technology solutions.

This opportunity is ideal for a hands-on Scrum Master who can facilitate Agile delivery, coach teams, track risks and performance, and work effectively within an organization that uses both Agile and Waterfall practices.

Project and Role Overview

The Scrum Master will support a portfolio of enterprise application projects and operational initiatives. This person will facilitate Scrum processes, help teams work collaboratively, remove impediments, promote continuous improvement, and provide visibility into delivery progress, risks, issues, and key performance indicators.

The Scrum Master will work closely with product owners, stakeholders, project leaders, and product-development teams to help ensure work progresses on schedule, within budget, and at the expected level of quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, backlog-refinement sessions, and sprint retrospectives.
  • Reinforce Scrum practices, Agile principles, team agreements, and continuous-improvement behaviors.
  • Identify and help remove delivery impediments.
  • Coach and mentor team members on effective Scrum and Agile practices.
  • Work closely with product owners, stakeholders, and development teams.
  • Track delivery progress, risks, issues, dependencies, and key performance indicators.
  • Communicate project status and unresolved concerns to stakeholders.
  • Help teams deliver high-quality products and solutions on schedule.
  • Support delivery in an environment that combines Agile and Waterfall project-management practices.
  • Use Azure DevOps and other Agile delivery tools to manage and communicate project activity.
  • Apply analytical and technical knowledge when working with database queries, programming activities, and application-development teams.

Required Qualifications

  • Three or more years of professional experience as a Scrum Master.
  • Three or more years of experience using Azure DevOps.
  • Three or more years of experience independently leading Scrum ceremonies.
  • Three or more years of experience with database querying and programming.
  • Three or more years of experience using Agile project-management tools.
  • Three or more years of experience working in a hybrid project-management environment combining Agile and Waterfall.
  • Strong knowledge of Agile and Scrum principles and practices.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, facilitation, and communication skills.
  • Completed and verifiable bachelor’s degree in any field.
  • Ability to work fully onsite in South Carolina.
  • Current South Carolina residency or willingness to relocate to South Carolina at personal expense before starting.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified ScrumMaster, Professional Scrum Master, or comparable Agile certification.
  • Experience supporting government technology programs.
  • Experience supporting ERP projects or enterprise application environments.

Ideal Candidate Profile

You are a hands-on Scrum Master who does more than schedule meetings. You understand how to guide teams through Scrum ceremonies, surface blockers, communicate delivery risks, use Azure DevOps effectively, and help teams continuously improve.

You are comfortable working with both technical and business stakeholders and have enough technical depth to understand database queries, programming work, and enterprise application delivery. You can operate within hybrid Agile/Waterfall governance while helping teams apply practical Scrum principles.

You are organized, collaborative, analytical, and comfortable working fully onsite in South Carolina.
