Job Title : Desktop / Field Support Engineer (Hospital IT Support) L2
We are seeking a Field Support Desktop Engineer with technical expertise and a solid background in healthcare IT environments to join our 24/7 support team. This position will be 3 weekdays from 8 am to 5 pm at and Saturday and Sunday from midnight to 9 am and focuses on imaging, deploying, maintaining, and troubleshooting desktops and laptops, while ensuring minimal downtime for hospital staff. You will work directly with clinical users and IT teams to support critical systems that impact patient care.
Work Location & Travel Requirements
This role will be primarily based at one of our Brooklyn, NY offices. Occasional travel to our other Brooklyn-area locations (all within approximately 15 miles) will be required to provide on-site support as needed.
While having personal transportation may be helpful, it is not required. Candidates should be comfortable traveling between locations using public transportation and transporting work equipment when necessary.
Position Overview
Support the technology that keeps clinical teams running. This role focuses on imaging, deploying, maintaining, and troubleshooting desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and clinical workstations in a fast-paced healthcare environment where minimizing downtime is critical.
What You'll Do

Install, configure, repair, and maintain desktops, laptops, and peripherals.

Create and deploy Windows operating system images using enterprise imaging tools.

Troubleshoot complex hardware and software issues both remotely and on site.

Support PC refreshes, hardware upgrades, user moves, and IT deployment projects.

Provide support for clinical workstations, workstation-on-wheels (WOWs), and EMR terminals.

Provision and troubleshoot mobile devices using MobileIron MDM.

Communicate with clinical users and IT teams regarding issue status and resolutions.

Follow HIPAA and hospital IT security policies during all support activities.

Maintain documentation, asset inventory, and technical procedures.

Participate in on-call rotation and after-hours emergency support as needed.
Required Qualifications

Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent work experience.

Minimum 2 years of desktop engineering or field support experience.

Expertise in desktop and laptop imaging, configuration, and deployment.

Knowledge of Windows operating systems, device drivers, and endpoint security.

Experience or training with PowerShell, VBScript, or Batch scripting.

Experience with ServiceNow, Remedy, Zendesk, or another IT ticketing system.

Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office proficiency.

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and provide hands-on support throughout hospital facilities.
Preferred Qualifications

Experience supporting hospital or clinical environments.

Experience supporting EMR systems and clinical workflows.

MobileIron MDM experience.

Experience with CrowdStrike, Rapid7, or N-Able.

A+ Certification.

Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate.

Familiarity with HIPAA, PHI data handling, and ITIL best practices.
