Job Title :Senior Build Automation & Configuration Management Specialist

Position Overview

Take ownership of application build, configuration, version-management, and release processes supporting complex application environments. This role focuses heavily on build automation, CI/CD support for testing activities, configuration management, version management, deployment, and build/release troubleshooting.

What You'll Do

  • Manage source code control processes, including defining and enforcing standards, software baselining and versioning, and performing problem analysis, resolution, reporting, and tracking.
  • Manage and enhance application build and release processes, with build automation as a core responsibility.
  • Design and script automation workflows to support efficient and reliable build and release operations.
  • Support continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) for testing activities.
  • Monitor and optimize build pipeline performance to reduce build times, increase reliability, and improve developer productivity.
  • Conduct root-cause analysis on build and deployment failures and implement preventative measures and long-term corrective actions.
  • Serve as a technical advisor and primary liaison when engaging with vendors and their technical teams.
  • Act as a technical expert on performance-related issues involving systems that use Build Automation, Configuration Management, and Version Management tools.
  • Deploy new releases of application build, configuration, and version-management software.
  • Provide guidance and recommendations to systems development staff regarding project administration and project management for applications using Build Automation, Configuration Management, and Version Management products.
  • Perform build and deployment activities across multiple Bridges environments, including modifying tasks and variables at both build and deployment stages to support progression through established processes.
  • Assess ADO and build-process issues to determine what can be resolved internally and what requires external support.

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience being primarily responsible for higher-environment build automation, auditing, and administration of software configuration and version-management processes.
  • 10+ years of experience researching, evaluating, and recommending application software products related to configuration and version-management processes.
  • 10+ years of experience deploying new releases of application, configuration, and version-management software.
  • 10+ years of experience providing guidance and recommendations to systems development staff regarding project administration and project management for applications using Build Automation, Configuration Management, and Version Management tools.
  • Experience with configuration management tools such as ClearCase, ClearQuest, Git/Bitbucket, Bamboo, Jenkins, or Azure DevOps.
  • Experience with build automation tools such as Bamboo, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or Ant.
  • Experience with version control tools such as Git or Bitbucket.
  • Experience with issue/work tracking systems such as Jira or ADO Boards.
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Perl, Shell, or Python.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience enhancing automated build processes for Bridges and MiSACWIS.
