Salesforce Net Zero Cloud Developer

About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced Salesforce Net Zero Cloud Developer to design, develop, configure, integrate, and support Salesforce solutions focused on sustainability, carbon accounting, and Net Zero initiatives.

The candidate will work with sustainability and business teams to implement solutions that enable organizations to collect, manage, calculate, analyze, and report environmental data across areas.

The role requires strong Salesforce development skills combined with an understanding of sustainability data, and carbon reduction programs.

 Responsibilities

• Salesforce Net Zero Cloud Development
• Develop and customize solutions using Salesforce Net Zero Cloud.
• Configure and extend Net Zero Cloud functionality based on business requirements.
• Develop Apex Classes, Triggers, Batch Apex, Queueable Apex, Scheduled Apex, and Test Classes.
• Develop Lightning Web Components (LWC) where custom user interfaces are required.
• Configure Salesforce Flows, Validation Rules, Custom Metadata, Permission Sets, and other platform capabilities.
• Implement scalable solutions while adhering to Salesforce governor limits.
• Perform data modeling and configuration for sustainability-related data.

Integration

• Design and develop integrations between Salesforce Net Zero Cloud and external enterprise systems.
• Develop and consume REST/SOAP APIs.
• Integrate Salesforce with:
• Utility and energy data platforms
• ERP systems 
• Work with JSON, XML, API authentication, Named Credentials, and External Credentials.
• Implement asynchronous integrations using Platform Events, Queueable Apex, and Batch Apex where appropriate.
• Troubleshoot integration failures and data synchronization issues.

Data Management

• Design data ingestion processes for sustainability data.
• Develop data transformation and validation logic.
• Perform data cleansing and reconciliation.
• Build scalable solutions for large-volume sustainability datasets.
• Develop Batch Apex and scheduled processes for recurring calculations and data processing.
• Support data migration and bulk data loading activities.

Reporting & Analytics

• Develop Salesforce dashboards and reports for sustainability KPIs.
• Support reporting of:
• Energy consumption
• Carbon intensity
• Net Zero targets
• Progress against sustainability goals
• Work with business teams to translate sustainability requirements into meaningful Salesforce reports and dashboards.

Required Technical Skills

Salesforce

• Strong hands-on experience with Salesforce development.
• Strong knowledge of Apex.
• Experience with:
• Apex Classes
• Triggers
• Batch Apex
• Queueable Apex
• Scheduled Apex
• Future Methods
• Test Classes
• Strong knowledge of SOQL and SOSL.
• Strong understanding of Salesforce Governor Limits.
• Experience with Salesforce security and sharing model.
• Hands-on experience with Lightning Web Components.
• Experience with Salesforce Flow and declarative automation.

Net Zero Cloud / Sustainability

• Experience with Salesforce Net Zero Cloud / Sustainability Cloud is highly preferred.
• Knowledge of carbon accounting concepts.
• Experience working with sustainability KPIs and Net Zero targets.
• Understanding of sustainability reporting requirements is preferred.

Integration & Data

• Experience with REST and SOAP APIs.
• Strong knowledge of JSON and XML.
• Experience with Salesforce Named Credentials.
• Experience with Platform Events and event-driven integrations.
• Experience handling high-volume data.
• Knowledge of ETL/data integration concepts.
• Experience with Salesforce Data Loader or equivalent tools.

DevOps

• Experience with Salesforce CLI / SFDX.
• Git experience.
• Knowledge of CI/CD practices.
• Experience with GitHub Actions, GitLab, Azure DevOps, or similar tools is preferred.
• Experience with Salesforce deployment and release management.

Soft Skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to understand complex sustainability and business requirements.
• Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• Ability to work with both technical and sustainability teams.
