Senior Systems Software Programmer – Power BI & OnBase

Position Overview

This role offers the opportunity to work with Power BI and OnBase to support reporting, dashboards, analytics, paperless processes, workflows, and enterprise application development. The position combines software development, system configuration, testing, deployment, data services, production support, and collaboration with technical and business stakeholders.

The role is suited for an experienced software development professional who can work across the full SDLC, contribute to Power BI and OnBase implementations, troubleshoot technical issues, and help maintain stable and reliable systems.

What You'll Do / Key Responsibilities

• Participate in the implementation of Power BI and OnBase, including the design, definition, and development of content type models, workflows, templates, reports, dashboards, analytics, data transformations, components, and use permissions.

• Analyze existing programs and formulate logic for new systems.

• Develop logic procedures, prepare flowcharts, perform coding, and test/debug programs.

• Prepare and obtain approval of system and programming documentation.

• Configure system settings and options.

• Plan and execute unit, integration, and acceptance testing.

• Create system specifications to meet business requirements.

• Assist with deploying applications to Dev, QA, and Production environments and performing migrations.

• Follow best practices for secure web programming and deployment.

• Adhere to coding standards, unit test coverage, automation, and continuous integration best practices.

• Work closely with the team or vendor to ensure sound practices for site architecture, performance, reliability, and content delivery.

• Troubleshoot and recommend technical solutions for customer issues related to backup configuration and recovery.

• Develop workaround solutions as appropriate.

• Perform equipment and software upgrades.

• Maintain familiarity with current computer and network products.

• Mentor junior developers.

• Adhere to information security guidelines and promote information security among coworkers.

• Provide feedback regarding product issues, enhancements, and new features.

• Manage multiple tasks and activities concurrently and provide periodic status updates to key stakeholders.

• Collaborate with peers and management to resolve client issues.

• Prioritize issues of varying severity and effectively manage their resolution within accepted service levels.

• Maintain appropriate Helpdesk information and provide timely status updates regarding issues.

• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of software development experience within the full SDLC.

• 5+ years of State Government experience.

• 5+ years of Power BI experience.

• 5+ years of OnBase experience.

• 5+ years of HTML, JQuery, Jscript, and VB development, design, and coding experience.

• 5+ years of experience with Agile methodology.

• 5+ years of experience with strong SQL and SSIS.

• Bachelor's degree in a technical or related field.

• Ability to effectively interact and communicate with peer- to Director-level IT professionals.

• Strong initiative, drive, and ability to work as a self-starter.

• Ability to ask pertinent questions and proactively identify and communicate process improvements.

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and activities concurrently.

• Strong collaboration, customer service, attention to detail, and responsiveness to customer tickets.

• Ability to prioritize and manage issues of varying severity within accepted service levels.

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on business knowledge of business processes.

• Familiarity with EDMS fundamentals and design.

• Hands-on experience with cloud-based solutions.

• Industry certifications in the field, including Microsoft, Power Platform, or Project Management certifications.
