Software Engineer – AEM / Java / Angular

Overview / Summary

We are seeking a Software Engineer to design, develop, test, and maintain software applications and products that meet customer needs. This role is involved throughout the software development lifecycle, including software architecture, coding, testing, deployment, and application optimization. The position includes both front-end and back-end software engineering responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage with customers to understand their use cases, pain points, and requirements, while advocating for user-centric software solutions.
  • Solve complex problems by designing, developing, and delivering solutions using various tools, languages, frameworks, methodologies, and technologies.
  • Assess software application or service requirements and determine appropriate technology stacks, integration methods, and deployment strategies.
  • Create high-level software architecture designs outlining the overall structure, components, and interfaces of applications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product owners, designers, and architects.
  • Define and implement software testing strategies, guidelines, policies, and processes in alignment with organizational vision, industry regulations, and market best practices.
  • Continuously improve application performance and optimize applications while implementing new technologies to maximize development efficiency.
  • Apply programming practices such as test-driven development, continuous integration, and continuous delivery.
  • Support security practices to safeguard user data, including encryption and anonymization.
  • Create user-friendly and interactive interfaces.
  • Develop and maintain back-end applications, including APIs and microservices, using server-side languages.
  • Evaluate and incorporate emerging technologies and capabilities to deliver software solutions.
  • Monitor and participate in solutions involving new technology stack layers and industry collaboration.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 6+ years of experience in IT.
  • 4+ years of software development experience.
  • Practical experience in two coding languages or advanced practical experience in one coding language.
  • Experience with Adobe Suite.
  • Experience with JavaScript.
  • Experience with Angular.
  • Experience with HTML5.
  • Experience with CSS (Cascading Style Sheets).
  • Experience with React.
  • Experience with Apache Sling.
  • Experience with Java.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with AEM as a Cloud Service (AEMaaCS).
  • Experience with DevOps tools and processes such as Git, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Familiarity with microservices or service-oriented architecture.
  • Curiosity and hands-on experience using AI tools to support development, testing, or content workflows.
  • Adobe AEM certification(s).
  • Experience with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot or Agentic AI solutions for automated code reviews.
  • Strong hands-on experience with modern front-end technologies such as HTML5, CSS3/Sass, and JavaScript.

Work Arrangement

  • Hybrid schedule: 4 days per week in the office and 1 day per week from home.
  • Fully remote work is not available.
  • Candidates must be located near the Metro Detroit area and able to commute to the office by the start date.
