A Call For Change
Universities have moved towards digital technologies to make them more accessible and collaborative. They aid in making decisions based on data and its related analytics and statistics, at the various levels of the department. These insights are critical for multiple decision points, including the Dean’s office.
Based on this, the university wanted to accelerate processes by integrating the copious amounts of student and faculty data that were available at different touchpoints. The data was spread across multiple systems like PeopleSoft, Oracle, SQL Server, and Excel files, and a need to use the available data for decision-making was felt. There were several limitations in getting a consolidated view of data related to admissions, retention, faculty salary, sabbaticals, etc.
